Batala London is a Brazilian Samba Reggae drumming group based in the heart of the city. We bring rhythm, colour and energy to festivals, parades, community events and celebrations across London and beyond. Our music is rooted in the Afro‑Brazilian traditions of Salvador, Bahia, and we’re proud to share this powerful sound with audiences of all ages.

We’re part of the global Batala family, a network of bands around the world that play the same music and share the same spirit. Every Batala group follows the musical direction of our founder, Giba Gonçalves, whose arrangements and rhythms shape the sound you hear today.​
