Who we are
Batala London brings Afro Brazilian samba reggae to streets, stages and celebrations across the UK. We’re a diverse community of drummers who rehearse weekly, perform year round and share the energy, colour and rhythm of Bahia with audiences everywhere.
We’re part of the global Batala Mundo family, emerging in 2010 as the sixth UK band in this vibrant samba reggae network. Our members come from all backgrounds and levels of experience, combining drumming and choreography with our striking red, black and white costumes. We unite cultures through rhythm and bring high energy Afro Brazilian performances to London’s streets and events.
What we do
We perform at festivals, carnivals, parades, community events and private celebrations. Whether leading a procession or lifting a stage, our drumming brings movement, colour and connection to every space.
